Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups sliced apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  • Peel and slice the apples, then place them in the baking dish.
  • In a bowl, mix rolled oats, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • Pour melted butter and vanilla extract into the dry ingredients and mix well.
  • Spread the oat mixture evenly over the sliced apples.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
  • Check the apples for tenderness with a fork.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  • Serve warm, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.
