Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Boil a pot of salted water and cook the macaroni until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the flour and whisk for about 2 minutes until smooth.
  • Gradually pour in the milk and cream, whisking constantly until thickened.
  • Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; cook until thickened.
  • Stir in the shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
  • Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce and mix well.
  • Transfer to a baking dish, top with breadcrumbs, and bake for 20 minutes until golden.
  • Remove from oven and let sit for a few minutes before serving.
