Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbly.
  • Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
  • Continue to cook until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in the garlic powder, mustard powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Remove from heat and add the shredded cheddar and mozzarella until melted.
  • Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni and mix well.
  • Transfer to a greased baking dish, top with breadcrumbs, and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
