- 9 lasagna noodles
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 cups marinara sauce
- 1 pound ground beef optional
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked; season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
Layer three lasagna noodles over the sauce.
Spread half of the ricotta cheese over the noodles.
Add half of the cooked ground beef (if using) and a third of the mozzarella cheese.
Repeat the layers, ending with a final layer of noodles topped with marinara sauce.
Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly.
