Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 4 sandwich buns
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Shred the cooked chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  • In a saucepan, combine the shredded chicken and barbecue sauce.
  • Heat the mixture over medium heat until warmed through.
  • Slice the sandwich buns in half.
  • Toast the buns lightly on a skillet or in the oven.
  • Season the chicken mixture with salt and pepper.
  • Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, if desired.
  • Top with a generous portion of the shredded chicken.
  • Add shredded lettuce and tomato slices on top.
  • Drizzle additional barbecue sauce over the toppings and close the sandwich.
