  • 2 cups fresh strawberries sliced

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • Wash the fresh strawberries under cold water and remove the stems.
  • Slice the strawberries into halves or quarters.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.
  • Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Mash the strawberries gently with a fork or potato masher.
  • Continue simmering for another 5-10 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
  • For a smoother consistency, blend the sauce using an immersion blender.
  • Transfer the strawberry sauce to a jar or container and refrigerate until ready to use.
